✅ GENERAL CHECKLIST


☐ Know your syllabus

• Patterns (Tuls)

• Kicks, blocks, stances, strikes

• Three Two and One-step sparring

• Self-defence & free sparring


☐ Practice your pattern thoroughly

• Accuracy of technique

• Rhythm, breathing, and power

• Understand the pattern’s meaning


☐ Refine kicking techniques

• Practice with focus and control and foot shape

• Include combinations and retraction

• Work on balance and flexibility


☐ Improve your overall fitness

• Cardiovascular endurance

• Core strength and leg power

• Stretch daily


☐ Train for self-defence & sparring

• Practice with a partner

• Control, awareness, and realism

• Spar with good technique and movement


☐ Learn your theory

• Korean terminology

• Tenets of Taekwondo

• History (basic knowledge for higher belts)


☐ Prepare your uniform and documents

• Clean dobok and belt

• Licence book ready

• Grading fee prepared

• Eat well & rest the night before

• Arrive early and warm up

• Bow on entering and leaving the hall

• Listen carefully to all instructions

• Stay focused and respectful

• If you make a mistake — keep going!
